Our journey through plagiocephaly and brachycephaly

  1. I can’t thank you enough for this blog. My grandson, Logan, was diagnosed with acquired plagiocephaly (Q3, right side). He has a very wide face and head. He also has torticollis on the right side. He was born 11/11/16 and has been getting physical therapy 2X a week for the past 1.5 months. I see slight improvement visually….but huge improvement in his ability to turn his neck from side to side, hold his head up and and look up. The issue now for us is whether or not to get the helmet for him. His pediatrician is totally against it and claims that PT alone will fix the problem. Of course, the PT office I take him to is pushing me to get the helmet for him. I know absolutely nothing about any of this but I’m learning as I go along. Just wanted to thank you for documenting your daughter’s journey through this. I am so glad Logan’s doctor noticed this condition at his first appointment in the office so we had an early start to helping him. Thanks again.

    Hi Susan,
It saddens me that 10 years later, parents and children are still going through the same anxiety, pain, guilt, and the list goes on. I am glad that this short lived blog helps a little and I apologize for not checking myself more often. We have quite moved on…
    Take care,
